I had the Thrashball drone unlocked a couple days ago, all the challenges are still done but he’s just not in my inventory anymore and it reverted back to the standard locust drone. Had this happened to anyone?

I sold something to a website yesterday and they have paid me as they showed on live chat (it said unclaimed). They told me to confirm my email address, I had to add another email and confirm that and make it my primary because I couldn't log into the other one to verify. Will I still get the money because I changed the email?

2021.09.27 17:47 Bearandtie Music like Whitearmor's 13 or Blue Plastic
I really like the soundscapes of Whitearmor's instrumental (especially the mix of guitar and synths) and Bladee's vocals of 13. Even more than Karma on that EP. It has a contemplative late night feeling to it. Blue Plastic has a similar feeling, Gud manages to craft a sincere slow dance quality to Leandoer's lyrics as well. I'd like to ask if there are any similar-sounding songs within the GTBSG or SBE catalogue or beyond that give off similar vibes. Thanks!

2021.09.27 17:47 demonsnotangels I had a scary experience with heart palpitations.
So I'm 17 year old male, I have anxiety and I think because of this I experience heart palpitations, but I'm really not sure.
They normally tend to feel like my heart has stopped for a seconds or is fluttering and then my heart resumes a normal rhythm, as most happen. They normally feel quite weird but they are never too scary or worrying.
Today, on the contrast to the usual, I had a palpitation that was incredibly strong and did scare me. It basically just happened that I noticed my heart felt like it wasn't beating, and within a millisecond of me noticing this feeling, it felt like my heart started trembling strongly, I felt myself get a tiny bit light headed as this was happening. It carried on for about 4 seconds as i knelt down clutching at my chest saying "oh fuck oh fuck", and then it just stopped. I felt my head get a rush of blood and then nothing, I was back to normal. Up until now nothing has happened.
So my question is, is this something I should worry about?

2021.09.27 17:47 124abcie I’m in a relationship but I’m still thinking of my ex
Ok, I understand how awful this sounds, but I am very confused about my feeling at the moment. For background info, my ex and I were dating at ages 16/17 and dated for about a year but broke up “mutually” because we were both a bit immature. My current boyfriend and I met in work (both 21 now) and have been together for over a year now and I do love him, he’s a great boyfriend to me.
My ex have kept in and out of touch over the past few years but it never led anywhere and I do find myself randomly thinking of him. However, the other night I had a random dream about my ex and (stupidly) decided to follow him on Instagram where he then messaged me. He’s told me he still has feelings for me and claims I’m ‘the one’, telling me I’m beautiful etc.. I still find him very attractive and we did get on quite well together.
Ever since then I haven’t been able to stop thinking of him, but It’s made me so confused because I am in a stable and good relationship but it has made me doubt my feelings for my current boyfriend. I hate that I went behind his back and talked to my ex but it felt right in the moment….
What would you do?

2021.09.27 17:47 captainrushingin Have been practising LoA religiously for a 10 days now but kinda feeling low
So last weekend I began my journey into practising LoA. My intention is to manifest a relationship with a SP who has friendzoned me currently.
I’ve been depressed since May of this year mostly because I was literally chasing my SP after she rejected me. I gave up on her and was sad and depressed, that’s when somehow LoA and Neville Goddard came into my life.
I haven’t been talking to her now and I’m maintaining my distance.
In these 10 days I practiced Neville Goddard’s teaching rather religiously and I must say it really pulled me out of my depression.
In these 10 days i’ve had very small success in manifestation which kept my faith going. Example, i’ve been thinking about buying a diary in order to maintain a LoA journal. I didn’t take any action cos I got busy with my work. Today I came from gym, put my bag into the almirah and found a brand new diary just then and there.
Another Example, last week I wrote in my diary that “By the end of this month I would like to try a cuisine I haven’t tried ever and I would like it”. So last friday my friend called me for drinks and dinner. I obliged and we ended up trying a chicken salad which both of us had never tried before. I DID LIKE IT. So I was like this is wish fulfilled I guess.
On the very same day I was thinking internally that “Hey i’ve been practising LoA for a week now, i’m mostly maintaining this positive Vibe but I don’t know if I am headed in the right direction or not”. So while I was out with my friend, he mentioned a Gym which is actually owned by my SP’s brother-in-law and I was like “Holy shit. Is that a synchronicity?”
That motivated me that yeah i’m doing good.
Yesterday I was really really vibing and I was really living as if I already am in a relationship with her. I was on a positive high throughout the day and at night I was 100% sure I would receive a text. Now today It didn’t happen and now i’m kinda feeling really low and i’m really questioning what exactly am I doing and how exactly LoA is different from wishful thinking. I don’t know just for how long should I keep at it cos i’m really not receiving any movement from her side. Not so much as a text.

2021.09.27 17:47 scottoden The State of Sword-and-Sorcery/Heroic Fantasy
The original topic was was deleted, but that thread contained some very good information on the current state of S&S publishing, particularly the comment left by u/HowardAJones. To save that resource, and to foster the conversation, I've called upon the dark powers to revive the dead . . .
Here's Howard's comment in full:
I was summoned by u/Glass-Bookkeeper5909 and lo, I have emerged through a shining portal.
In all seriousness, I'm glad Glass-Bookkeeper5909 contacted me, because I haven't been on Reddit much the last few weeks because -- and this is directly relevant -- I was putting finishing touches on a new sword-and-sorcery novel.
In regards to whether or not there is an audience who still prefers it? Yes, but I don't know how large it is. It is *very* difficult to break through all the noise and get attention to an author who isn't already well known, or a new magazine, or what have you.
But then, as some of you who've referenced the previous Reddit threads on sword-and-sorcery know, there's a lot of confusion about what sword-and-sorcery is. The definition has been diluted to Hell and gone. Role-playing games have been advertising themselves as sword-and-sorcery, but then are stuffed full of the trappings of high fantasy. Fantasy movies describe themselves (or are described by critics) as sword-and-sorcery if they're any kind of fantasy at all.
The difference, as far as I'm concerned, is apparent on the page, not the screen. And I've written about it at length in an article defining it for Tales From the Magician's Skull. Even with this carefully worded definition I received a score of material during the open call for submissions that didn't fit this definition, although I think that's less a matter of confusion and more a matter of people not bothering to read before they submit.
Here's what I said:
The term “sword-and-sorcery” gets bandied around a lot. As far as we’re concerned here at The Skull, it’s not just a generic term that can be used interchangeably with fantasy fiction, but a descriptor of a specific sort of fantasy fiction, as intended by Fritz Leiber, the man who coined the phrase. I’ve been working on defining that definition over the years, with a little help from John Hocking, William King, Robert Rhodes, and John “The Gneech” Robey. I see sword-and-sorcery having at least these four characteristics:
The Environment: Sword-and-sorcery fiction takes place in lands different from our own, where technology is relatively primitive, allowing the protagonists to overcome their martial obstacles face-to-face. Magic works, but seldom at the behest of the heroes. More often sorcery is just one more obstacle used against them and is usually wielded by villains or monsters. The landscape is exotic; either a different world, or far corners of our own.
The Protagonists: The heroes live by their cunning or brawn, frequently both. They are usually strangers or outcasts, rebels imposing their own justice on the wilds or the strange and decadent civilizations which they encounter. They are usually commoners or barbarians; should they hail from the higher ranks of society then they are discredited, disinherited, or come from the lower ranks of nobility (the lowest of the high).
Obstacles: Sword-and-sorcery’s protagonists must best fantastic dangers, monstrous horrors, and dark sorcery to earn riches, astonishing treasure, the love of dazzling romantic partners, or the right to live another day.
Structure: Sword-and-sorcery is usually crafted with traditional structure. Stream-of-consciousness, slice-of-life, or any sort of experimental narrative effects, when they appear, are methods used to advance the plot, rather than ends in themselves. A tale of sword-and-sorcery has a beginning, middle, and end; a problem and solution; a climax and resolution. Most important of all, sword-and-sorcery moves at a headlong pace and overflows with action and thrilling adventure.
The protagonists in sword-and-sorcery fiction are most often thieves, mercenaries, or barbarians struggling not for worlds or kingdoms, but for their own gain or mere survival. They are rebels against authority, skeptical of civilization and its rulers and adherents. While the strengths and skills of sword-and-sorcery heroes are romanticized, their exploits take place on a very different stage from one where lovely princesses, dashing nobles, and prophesied saviors are cast as the leads. Sword-and-sorcery heroes face more immediate problems than those of questing kings.
They are cousins of the lone gunslingers of American westerns and the wandering samurai of Japanese folklore, traveling through the wilderness to right wrongs or simply to earn food, shelter, and coin. Unknown or hazardous lands are an essential ingredient of the genre, and if its protagonists should chance upon inhabited lands, they are often strangers to either the culture or civilization itself.
Sword-and-sorcery distances itself further from high or epic fantasy by adopting a gritty, realistic tone that creates an intense, often grim, sense of realism seemingly at odds with a fantasy setting. This vein of hardboiled realism casts the genre’s fantastic elements in an entirely new light, while rendering characters and conflict in a much more immediate fashion. Sword-and-sorcery at times veers into dark, fatalistic territory reminiscent of the grimmer examples of noir-crime fiction. This takes the fantasy genre, the most popular examples of which might be characterized as bucolic fairy tales with pre-ordained happy endings, and transposes a bleak, essentially urban style upon it with often startling effect.
While sword-and-sorcery is a relative to high fantasy, it is a different animal. High fantasy, mostly invented by William Morris as an echo of Sir Thomas Mallory and then popularized by J.R.R. Tolkien, moves for the most part at a slow, stately, pace, meandering gently from plot point to plot point, or, as is often the case, from location to location.
While exotic landscape is present, even common, in sword-and-sorcery, it is displayed differently and toward a different effect. Sword-and-sorcery was birthed in an entirely different tradition. Robert E. Howard, its creator, wrote for the pulps. The pulp magazines, the television of their day, were fueled by quick moving action. The stories needed to grab you within the first few sentences so that if you were browsing the magazine at the news stand you’d feel compelled to purchase it to finish. The pulp stories were meant to seize your attention from the opening lines and never let go.
This difference in pacing is crucial and there are hidden difficulties attendant in trying to create it on the page. John Chris Hocking added this to the discussion: “Some sword-and-sorcery authors seem to believe that swift pacing must equal Action. And that Action must equal Violence. Neither of these things are true. All the fighting and running and frenzy you create will grow tiresome unless it is moving the story forward. Sure, Action is great unto itself, but it is the unfolding of the plot that truly captivates.”
Yes, people are still writing sword-and-sorcery. When it comes to short fiction there's the Skull, there's Heroic Fiction Quarterly, there's Whetstone. There's Grimdark magazine, there's Cirsova, both of which, while not being dedicated to the genre, are certainly publishing some of it. There are the anthologies and novels published by DMR. There are other online venues as well.
You want modern authors in books? How about the World Fantasy Award nominated James Enge, who has 6 Morlock novels published by Pyr, and whose work about Morlock continues to appear in print (including in Magician's Skull). How about the works of John Fultz (try the Shaper trilogy) or Scott Oden's work, or Chris Wilrich, or various Warhammer authors like Clint Werner, William King, and Nathan Long? How about me? My recent trilogy is sword-and-sorcery disguised with an epic fantasy veneer, and then my older historical fantasy is obviously a love letter to the genre. How about Scott Lynch, whose Gentlemen Bastards sequence is clearly s and s of the roguish Lankhmaran sort? How about Violette Malan and her Dhulyn and Parno books, or a host of books and anthologies by Milton Davis? Then there's Rakefire by Jason Ray Carney, or the anthology he edited, Savage Scrolls.
I could go on and on. Hopefully some other folks will suggest additional writers. I have run out of time, and must get back to writing!
And, discuss . . .
User vanishes in cloud of corpse-smoke . . .
